Hollywood-based US label, largely associated with the hits of the
Beach Boys. Many thanks to John Cummins for these listings and his comments,
including ‘Both LPs are amateurish productions and one wonders why a major
label such as Capitol was associated with these releases.’ John adds that the
first of the BCB recordings listed below, and both are by the 1958 version of
the band, bearing no resemblance to its 1930s predecessor, was probably the
first live commercial Irish music release (recorded at the Irish Club in
Dublin’s Parnell Square).

This Boston-based American
label was originally part of the O’Byrne DeWitt group, but is nowadays
distributed by Rego – www.regorecords.com. The ‘C’ prefix indicates a cassette release. Many
thanks to John Cummins for the vinyl listings – John also provided the
information that all the LPs up to 9-614 comprised reissued 78s and the company
began issuing them in the late 1950s.

COVERT 1676 Davy Spillane – Sea of Dreams
Yep, this is the US restaurant
and store chain, and not the cheese merchants. The company regularly releases
commissioned CDs and, presumably for some arcane marketing reason, these
included a fifteen-disc ‘traditional music’ collection in 2003, including the
following (though you’ll have to scour the Net to find a copy):
Number unknown Winifred Horan and Friends – Pleasures of Home (2003).
